Family Fun Ride

2023 P2A FAMILY RIDE

The FUN version of Canada’s Spring Classic returns for another edition. Like its older siblings the P2A FAMILY is a true “point to point” adventure with a start location at Bishop Tonnos High School, riding distance from the Ancaster Community Center. P2A FAMILY is designed for families, beginners and anyone looking for a shorter, less grueling version of P2A. It is non-competitive and not timed. We do provide a souvenir number plate for identification.

You get all the fun of a variety of paved and unpaved roads, trails, bike paths, rail trails and closed road allowances. It will by pass the infamous mud chutes of the longer races, but share the same final challenging climb of Old Martin Road to the finish line at the Ancaster Community Center. The course breakdown for the 20km is approximately 7km gravel road, 5km of paved road, 5km of smooth gravel rail trail and 3km of single track. This ride is most suited to mountain and hybrid bikes. This ride is suitable for riders of all ages and abilities. The mass start ride will be self timed with finisher's awards, draw prizes, a post race meal and entertainment for everyone.

E-bikes Are Welcome!
If you have an electric-assist bike then you are most welcome to join in this 20km family ride. Your bike should have decent treaded tires as there is some off road riding. That being said, an electric scooter isn’t appropriate for the route conditions. If you have questions please don’t hesitate to email us and we will help.

START TIME - 9:30am Start is at Bishop Tonnos High School in Ancaster. The finish is at the Ancaster Community Center. In the interest of safety for all P2A participants, the P2A FAMILY route may be shortened at strategic points for riders who are unable, due to mechanical problems or physical ability, to maintain an average speed of 10km/hour or an estimated long riding time (over 2 hours) that would result in a conflict with the finish of the races.
