BACK FOR 2010 - 3 WAVES TO REDUCE CONGESTION ON COURSE
Start: FIRST WAVE - 10:15AM
Start: SECOND WAVE - 10:25AM
Start: THIRD WAVE & TOUR - 10:35AM
Depart from Green Lane Sports Park, Green Lane, Paris
THE FIRST WAVE
Entry to the first wave is based on a finish in the top 250 of the 2009 race or to those in possession of a valid 2010 CCA/UCI/USACycling racing licence. Entry to the first wave is determined solely by the event organizers. Number plates are unique for first wave starters. The top 100 riders from 2009 will start at the front of Wave 1. The rest of Wave 1 will be riders who finished in the top 250 overall in 2009 OR hold a 2010 racing licence from CCA or USACycling. Licence must be shown at registration and packet pick up.
THE SECOND WAVE
Wave 2 will be for riders who anticipate finishing in under 3 hours. Limited to 400 riders. Enter early if you feel you belong in Wave 2!!!
If Wave 2 is full- You may be able to move into Wave 2 at the time you pick up your race number, if someone moves from Wave 2 to Wave 1 or 3 to create an opening. We are NOT taking names for a waiting list to change waves. The procedure will be to pick up your race number, then go to the “ Event/Wave ChangeTable” to see if a spot is available to switch your registration. We expect there will be some riders who applied for their racing licence who will be trying to move up to Wave 1 from Wave 2, so some openings will likely become available.
THE THIRD WAVE
Wave 3 will be for riders anticipating a finish time of longer than 3 hours and all riders not qualifying for Wave 1 if the field limit for the 2nd Wave is met. There is no limit to participation in Wave 3.
By being honest with your predicted finish time everyone will have more fun and a faster, less congested ride.
60 KM CUT OFF TIME IN EFFECT FOR 2010
You will have 2 hours and 15 minutes from the 60 km start to reach the halfway point at the Harrisburg aid station. If you're late you will not be permitted to continue. There will be a shuttle provided to return you to the finish or start line. For this reason we would recommend that inexperienced or first time participants tackle the 35 km race the first year, prior to attempting the 60 km event in a future year.
