START TIME - 9:30AM - 5 MINUTE GAP BETWEEN EACH START

BIKE - Most are using gravel bikes. You can use whatever bike you want since it is an open race. No e-bikes. No aero bars/extensions on drop or flat bars. Helmets are mandatory. No ear buds or headphones. The 2024 P2A Classic course is still being worked on. As always there is the weather to contend with. We haven't had much of a winter and things are drier than usual but that can change. The distance might go up or down slightly depending upon conditions. Here are the percentages of surfaces that you will encounter. Unknown is definitely not pavement. These have been mapped on RidewithGPS. As always there is private property on the route. Due to trespassing concerns if we release the route it will be last minute.
COURSE
The Creemore Springs P2A CLASSIC p/b Argon 18 & Starward Homes is approximately 70km long and begins at Waynco Aggregates just south of Cambridge, Ontario. The legendary race. Since 1994 competitors have fought each other, and sometimes the elements, over this course. Overall it is a tough ride. The start is in North Dumfries Township, just south of Cambridge, with a challenging combination of trails and hills. Then on to familiar territory to the McIntyre/Nixon Rail Line, the mud of Luna Adventures and the forest of The Prengerlaan. More mud at Mineral Springs Road Mud Chute and then to the mud pit of all time - the Powerline Road Mudslide. Just when you think you've made it you're hit with the equally legendary climb up Old Martin Road. You're only 3km from the finish but it is steep, rutted, wet and you're tired. If you can stay on your bike for the whole climb you're good. Overall winners have had to run up this climb. Challenge yourself on this truly classic event.
You are placed into a category based on age as of Dec 31/24.
Specialty categories ie mixed team, tandem, singlespeed, etc. are not age graded.

All ages subject to the following criteria which will be checked after you register:
• Valid 2024 UCI racing license
• Valid 2024 Provincial race license - You need to have as a minimum a Challenge or Compete Level membership. Club Day Passes and Community Memberships are insufficient.
• Valid 2024 USA Cycling domestic license
• or Top 250 overall of the 2023 P2A CLASSIC

VIPs - no qualification required - you will be staged behind the Fast Riders in the Start Corral
START 2 - 9:35AM - FIELD LIMIT OF 325 - THIS START IS NOW FILLED! Lots of spots left in Start 5
No qualification criteria, but it's first come, first served. Riders should feel capable of completing the race in 2 hours 45 minutes.
START 3 - 9:40AM - FIELD LIMIT OF 325 - THIS START IS NOW FILLED! Lots of spots left in Start 5

START 4 - 9:45AM - FIELD LIMIT OF 325 - THIS START IS NOW FILLED! Lots of spots left in Start 5
No qualification criteria, but it's first come, first served. Riders should feel capable of completing the race in 4 hours 15 minutes.
START 5 - 9:50AM - FIELD LIMIT OF 325
The FUN start. Riders should feel capable of finishing in less than 5 hours. Race course will close at pro-rated times at the 35km, 20km and 10km to go points.
BEFORE YOU REGISTER -- CAN YOU RACE 70KM?
ARE YOU PREPARED TO BE PULLED FROM THE COURSE IF YOU ARE TOO SLOW? If you are in doubt, then it is likely best to register in the shorter P2A BRÈVE this year and try the P2A CLASSIC in the future. There are cutoff times and you will be pulled. Cutoff times and locations will be published prior to the race.
IF A START IS FILLED - You may be able to switch starts at the time you pick up your race number if someone else moves to create an opening. We are NOT taking names for a waiting list to change starts. The procedure will be to pick up your race number, go to the "Event/Start Change Table" to see if a spot is available to switch your registration.

Award Ceremonies are at 3pm on race day at the Ancaster Community Center/Robert E. Wade Community Park. You or a representative must be in attendance to get your medal/prize. Medals/prizes will not be mailed.

Plate/kit pick up - On Saturday you either have to be there in person or have a friend pick-up for you. You will need to show your ID in order to pick up your own kit. Friends will need to show an email from you indicating that they in fact do have permission to pick it up and they will need to show their ID. While you are getting your kit come & browse the P2A Expo!!
